A Dinner Conversation

Aiden: I picked something up at school today. I thought it was a clover.

Me: What?

Aiden: Do I have red spots all over my face?

Me: Aiden, what are you talking about?

Aiden: Poison....Mary? (Maybe you needed to see his face when he said this?)
I guess this is what happens when you have a cousin named Ivy...he knew it was a girls name but didn't know ivy is also a plant. I thought this was cute. Later that evening I found out Ivy was the one who told him a clover was poison ivy? How she and the school incident are related, I don't know...she's about 3 years older than him and in a completely different school. If I could only figure out how a 5 year old's brain works, I could make millions!

That is such a sweet smile...and a cute conversation. I love the things kids say...even if we know where they come from most of the time. :)

I would love it if we can understand our kids train of thoughts. Most the time I feel like the train is completely derailed from my line of thinking.
